Over half a decade ago, Nemo released the original Stargaze, a unique camp chair that provided a hammock-like seating experience. It easily carved itself a spot in many people’s camping stash. The Nemo Stargaze EVO-X is a new update that makes the camp chair even easier to use.
Like other chairs in the Stargaze line, the camp chair allows you to swing and recline while plopped comfortably on its seat, providing a much more relaxing seating experience than what you’ll normally get even from bigger camp chairs. Unlike them though, the new chair gets an updated folding frame that allows it to deploy in a single motion. That means, no complicated unfolding and no assembly, allowing you to get set up in no time.
The Nemo Stargaze EVO-X is equipped with a new X-style frame that enables the quick deployment, as the frame simply slides into to place, eliminating a lot of the extra work found in the original design. To deploy it, you simply remove the compression strap that’s holding everything together, grab the upright poles, and pull them apart to immediately expand the frame, with the locking pins automatically engaging on their own. It’s a sturdy frame, too, coming with a total of six contact points, so there’s no wobbling at any point, all while coming with a flared foot geometry that keeps it stable the entire time you’re plopped down on it. The chair, by the way, supports up to 300 pounds, so even heavyweights can use it to enjoy their time at camp.
According to the outfit, it sports the new frame design while enabling a smooth and easy swinging motion, allowing you to rock gently while seated. It automatically reclines to your preferred sitting angle, too, immediately providing the necessary support any time you lean back and shift your body weight. Apparently, it achieves that by using tensioning straps that can support the deepest reclining angles, allowing you to get as comfortable as you want.
The Nemo Stargaze EVO-X also gets an enhanced seat design that, the outfit claims, provides additional support compared to the previous versions, as well as padded headrest, so you can lead your head back into comfortable cushioning. It also gets a pair of integrated cupholders, so you can not just one, but two drinks within easy reach. Why would you want two drinks? We don’t know, but it gives you the option to do that if you’re into it.
Packing the chair up, by the way, is just as easy as deploying it. Specifically, all you need to do is grab the handle on the back of the seat and pull it up, then pull up the release strap to fold the whole thing back into a collapsed state. It comes with a carrying case, too, so you can keep it nestled in its own sack, which comes with a buckle for closing securely and an adjustable strap for carrying it over your shoulder.
