2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Goes From 0 to 60 MPH in Under Two Seconds

The Chevy Corvette has always been a showcase of driving dynamics, handling, and acceleration, making it one of the best sports cars you can take to the road. The 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1X, though, cranks things up a notch by unleashing driving speeds that rival the fastest supercars around.

How fast can it run? According to Chevrolet, it can go from standstill to 60 mph in under two seconds, while finishing a quarter mile run in under nine seconds. That’s right, 0 to 60 in under two ticks, which makes it a violently fast ride.

The 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1X is a hybrid sports car, combining a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 that sends power to the rear wheels and a 1.9kWh electric motor at the front axle, so you can send power to all four wheels. The V8 puts out 1,064 horsepower and the motor generates another 186 ponies, allowing the car to produce a monstrous power output of 1,250 hp. As such, it’s no surprise it can accelerate as fast as it does, all while hitting blindingly fast top speeds of 231 mph. Do note, the battery capacity is under three kWh, so you won’t be driving any significant distance emissions-free. Instead, the addition of the battery and motor were made to draw out better performance, aiding not only the acceleration, but the handling, cornering, and more.

As such, the vehicle has few driving modes that are new to the Corvette. One is the Endurance Mode, which provides full power to the front motor, albeit without taxing the battery too hard. Then, there’s the Qualifying Mode, which sucks out every last juice of battery it can for a big, instant dose of power. The car also has a “Push to Pass” button, which activates the car’s full power, sending everything it can to the front and rear wheels just long enough to let you get past another speeding car on the road.

The 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1X is, undoubtedly, an insanely powerful car. That’s why they fitted it with a totally new braking kit from Alcon, which put 10-piston calipers out front and six-piston calipers in the rear, along with 16.5-inch carbon ceramic rotors, which happen to be the largest ever offered on a Corvette. The launch of the car, by the way, also signals a new PTM Pro mode that will be available in all 2026 Corvette models. When engaged, the car turns off the traction and stability control, but leaves on the regenerative brake torque vectoring, front axle pre-control, and launch control systems.

Other features include an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, an electric-only Stealth Mode that can let the motor drive the car for up to five miles, GT2-style seats, large driver displays, an optional Carbon Fiber Aero package that adds a large spoiler in the back, and two body styles (coupe or convertible). There are currently 10 exterior color options.

If you want a Corvette with supercar performance, then it’s no surprise you’ll have to pay supercar prices. While no pricing has been announced, the 2026 Chevy Corvette ZR1X is expected to retail north of $200,000.
