Rumpl Tech Towel Tote Transforms from Beach Towel to Beach Tote and Back

Beach towels are great. They’re absorbent enough to dry you off after swimming, while being large enough to lie down on when sunbathing. The Rumpl Tech Towel Tote makes the beach towel even more useful by allowing it to fold into a handy tote bag.

That’s right, this beach towel transforms into a tote bag that you can use to carry your sunglasses, water bottle, and whatever other items you need at the beach. Granted, it’s not as big as those large carryalls people usually hoist on their shoulder and fill up with gear, but it should be big enough to accommodate a bunch of essentials you could need while laying out there in the sun.

The Rumpl Tech Towel Tote is a quick-dry towel made from 55 percent post-consumer recycled microsuede with spandex. According to the outfit, this fabric can absorb up to four times its weight in water, so it can dry you off without being excessively thick, while an antibacterial moisture management treatment helps it minimize odor development between washes. It’s also sand-resistant, so you can easily shake off any dirt that sticks to it when you lay it down on the sand, while a Nanotext cooling finish makes it temperature-regulating, so you can wrap it around you body without ever feeling too hot. As you can tell, it’s, pretty much, like most modern technical beach towels.

Unlike typical beach towels, this one has a zippered stash pocket built-in that you can use to store your phone, your sunscreen, and your wireless earbuds. That makes it extra handy. Even better, it can fold into a utilitarian tote bag that you can use to stash all sorts of items you’ll need throughout the day. Granted, it’s not quite as big as most beach totes that people lug around in the summer, but it should be very useful all the same.

The Rumpl Tech Towel Tote comes in two sizes: single and double. The Single measures 30 x 72 inches (width x length) and packs into a tote bag measuring 17 x 16 inches,
while the Double measures 50 x 73 inches and folds into a tote bag measuring 20 x 16 inches. The zippered pocket remains accessible when folded into a tote, as well, so you can just keep it zipped up and leave the contents in with no issues. It retains the handle in both tote and towel modes, by the way, giving you an easy way to both carry and hang it in either form.

According to Rumpl, the towel is machine-washable, so you can just throw it in with the rest of the laundry when cleaning up at home. Other features include a paracord hanging loop that comes in handy when drying, a loop on the pocket for a safe place to hide your keys, a weight of 1.2 pounds for the Single and 1.8 pounds for the Double, and three print options. We do wish they had some in just plain solid colors, but maybe they’ll have those down the line.

The Rumpl Tech Towel Tote is available now.
