Chirp RPM Mini Turns the Massage Gun Into a One-Handed Foam Roller

We’re big fans of Chirp’s unique massager from last year, which combined the traditional body roller with a powered percussive function, making for an excellent alternative to the more common massage gun form factor. The Chirp RPM Mini is a smaller variation of that original design.

No, it’s not just a miniaturized version of the original Rolling Powered Massager (RPM), which allows you to cover a wider area in one go.. Instead, it delivers the same roller design in a new form factor that allows you to handle the tool similar to a kettlebell, which lends itself for easier one-handed use compared to the much bigger variant, making for a uniquely excellent workout recovery tool.

The Chirp RPM Mini retains the rolling design of the original, albeit with a smaller percussive core section in the center. While the bigger percussive roller comes with five massage nodes on every row of the spinning core, this one gets just three, with a total of six rows on the entire thing. Sure, it’s not as wide, but it still covers a bigger patch of muscle each time out compared to the single node on traditional massage guns, so it should still perform a more efficient massage. The rolling core, by the way, are non-abrasive, ensuring they glide smoothly as they make their way across the top of your skin and dig their way to soothe your aching muscles.

Instead of using side grips, it comes with a handle on top similar to a kettlebell, making it a whole lot easier to control using one hand. According to the outfit, the kettlebell-style grip makes it easy to hold in a variety of positions, both one- and two-handed alike, allowing you to get creative when handling it to properly work through different body parts.

The Chirp RPM Mini is battery-powered, so you just press the button and the roller proceeds to spin all on its own. There’s no throbbing forwards or backwards, so you’ll need to apply pressure all on your own, pushing it in as light or as heavy as you want. It has three speed settings, allowing you to make it spin slower or faster, while the integrated battery allows it to run for up to four hours straight between charges.

The Chirp RPM Mini is available now, priced at $149.99.
