Jayflex Hyperbell Cable Turns Any Pull-Up Bar into a Functional Cable Machine

Cable exercises bring a lot of variety to your workouts. Problem is, they require a proper cable machine, which is why most people only get to do them at commercial gyms instead of their home setups. The Jayflex Hyperbell Cable makes cable machines way more accessible for people who want to do their workouts at home.

No, it’s not a full-fledged cable machine that can collapse like some home exercise equipment we’ve seen. Instead, it’s lot more compact than that, consisting of equipment that can fit in a small bag, requiring users to simply throw in a dumbbell for adding the necessary resistance.

The Jayflex Hyberbell Cable consists of steel cables, a pulley, a dumbbell clamp, and cable attachments, so the while thing can fit in a small bag, making it ideal for home use. The system uses a strap to easily set up set up on beams of all sorts, which should allow you to mount it on many fixtures both at home and outdoors. In case you don’t have any exposed beams at home, you can mount it on any standard pull-up bar, including those designed to setup on doorways, so you can turn an erstwhile simple pull up bar into a versatile cable machine.

To install, you simply secure the strap to a beam or pull-up bar, run the cables through the pulley, and attach a dumbbell on the clamp to serve as the resistance. According to the outfit, it should fit any dumbbell that measures at least 4.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter at its thickest section, which, pretty much, covers most commercial dumbbell designs you’ll find out there. No word on how much weight it can take, but they do have a video showing it using a 45-pound and a 100-pound dumbbell with no apparent issues.

The Jayflex Hyperbell Cable should work with, pretty much, any standard cable attachment out there, from ropes and bars to straps and different types of handles. That means, you should be able to use it with any cable exercise you can think of, whether it be cable crunches, tricep pushdowns, seated rows, and more, provided you can tack on the necessary weight to make it a worthwhile exercise. It includes three cable attachments in the set, by the way, so you can use it straight out of the box with no need to buy any additional equipment unless you want to expand your repertoire of available exercises.

Truth be told, we’re impressed with the design of this equipment. Installing a cable machine on a pull-up bar just seems like a clever hack that works so brilliantly, especially when you pair it with standard dumbbells for resistance. Sure, we doubt it can handle the same 200-plus pound weights some cable machines offer, but if it can handle 100 pounds like they claim, it opens up a whole new world of training for home gym setups.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Jayflex Hyperbell Cable. Pledges to reserve a unit starts at $59.
