Elvie Rise Can Transform From Motorized Bouncer to Bassinet and Back

Babies love being rocked. It’s easily one of the best ways to calm them down and lull them to sleep. However, the safest place for them to actually nap is flat on their back, which is why you put them down afterwards in a bassinet or crib. The Elvie Rise is a bassinet and bouncer in one, so you can rock your baby in the same bed where they can finish off their nap.

Designed for infants up to 22 pounds (sorry, 21-foot tall baby), the baby cradle can turn into a bouncer that holds your child at a reclined angle while slowly moving the whole thing back and forth. Once the child is asleep, you can transform it to a bassinet with a flat bed and high walls to keep them in peaceful slumber.

The Elvie Rise is a small crib mounted on a four-legged frame thats designed to smoothly transition from bouncer to bassinet and back, with a harness that automatically retracts and deploy as it switches from one mode to another. In bouncer mode, it rocks the baby with a gentle motion that, the outfit claims, feels more natural than that from other bouncers. You can even record how you rock your baby using the outfit’s SootheLoop technology, then have the bouncer mimic that repeatedly, which is quite unique in the space. There’s also a manual mode that lets the child control the bouncer with their own motions, which a small child might enjoy as they start growing.

Once the child has fallen asleep, you can switch to bassinet mode, which will turn it into a firm, flat mattress that, according to Elvie is designed based on guidance from the American Academy of Pediatrics. The bassinet comes with extendable walls to keep your baby from falling off the bed, while minimizing outside sound inside their sleeping space. This means, you don’t have to risk waking up your kid at any point, since they can stay comfortable in the bed the entire time.

The Elvie Rise comes with a built-in battery that powers the bouncing motions, a full charge of which allows for up to four hours of operation at the lowest bounce setting. It can operate while plugged in, too, in case it runs out of charge in the middle of comforting your child. A companion app allows you to control the type and frequency of bouncing motions it performs, by the way, so you don’t have to fiddle with buttons right on the bouncer. The app can also be used to record the amount of time the child spends in the bassinet, as well as track some basic sleeping behaviors.

The bassinet has a carrying groove that makes it easy to move from one spot to another, as well as collapsible legs if you need to put the whole thing in the car for a trip. Other features include a soft bamboo-spandex padded sheet with a water-resistant layer underneath, breathable inner side walls, and solid beech wood legs with rubber feet.

The Elvie Rise is available now, priced at $799.99.
