Kamado Joe Big Joe Konnected Joe Combines 450 Square Inches of Cooking Space with Automated Cooking Functions

We’re big fans of kamado grills for their versatility in the backyard, allowing you to smoke briskets, roast chicken, bake pizzas, and do all sorts of dishes from the same egg-shaped grill. Kamado Joe makes some of the best in the category, including a Wi-Fi model that’s fitted with a good load of tech conveniences. The Kamado Joe Big Joe Konnected Joe is a bigger version of their digitally-controlled grill.

That’s right, Kamado Joe made a supersized version of their connected grill, which has nearly double the cooking space of the original model. It gets all the same features, too, from the digital control panel and the automatic cooking mode to the digitally-managed fan and remote app control, albeit in a bigger package that will let you cook bigger batches of food in one go.

The Kamado Joe Big Joe Konnected Joe is, basically, a Wi-Fi version of the outfit’s 24-inch diameter grill, which boasts 450 square inches of cooking space, giving you enough room in the grates to cook for an entire party. According to the outfit, this is large enough to fit 22 burgers, eight chickens, or five pork shoulders in one go. It uses half-sized cooking grates that allow you to put each one at different heights, too, so you can put one closer to the flame and the other further up to cook food in each one at different temperatures for more grilling options.

Of course, what makes this one special are the digital features. For instance, it comes with a digital control panel that lets you specify exact temperatures and cooking times right on the grill, with three ports allowing you to plug in up to three meat probes for monitoring right on the built-in screen. There’s also a built-in fan that activates automatically when it needs more air to reach the desired heat levels, allowing it to easily maintain your cooking temperatures.

The Kamado Joe Big Joe Konnected Joe has an automatic cook mode that allows the digital smarts to manage everything on its own, as well as built-in Wi-Fi for remote access to the system via app. According to the outfit, the app will let you adjust temperature from 225 degrees to 700 degrees Fahrenheit remotely, set cooking time, monitor up to four meat probes, and even provide alerts (e.g. when the food is done). As with many modern grills, it comes with push-button ignition, so you can a fire going in no time.

While it’s fitted with plenty of digital and automated controls, the grill comes with a classic mode that lets you use it like a standard kamado grill. As such, the fan isn’t the only way to control airflow in the grill, as there’s also a top vent that you can use to adjust the amount of air that gets in. Other features include an all-ceramic body, an air-lifted hinge to make lid easier to open, a firebox that holds up to 10 pounds of charcoal, folding side shelves, and a wheeled cart for easily moving it around the backyard.

The Kamado Joe Big Joe Konnected Joe is slated availability in the coming weeks. Price is $2,999.
