Like many of the outfit’s other packable bags, this laundry bag is designed to pack down into a compact bundle that comfortably squeezes into any pocket on your softside suitcase, backpack, or duffel. Heck, it looks small enough to fit in your jacket pocket, allowing you to easily bring a proper laundry bag to any trip or adventure.
The Matador Packable Laundry Bag is a 30L bag with handles at the top, bottom, and side, so you can carry it by hand on its own whether you’re making the trek to the laundromat or traveling back with it as a second bag (it’s going to be tough to fit it in luggage if you fill up that 30-liter volume). It’s designed to stand on its own, so you can set it down on any flat surface, while a zippered opening up top makes it easy to dump your dirty garments. Those two elements literally make it feel like a traditional hamper – the same kind you’ll have holding all your dirty laundry somewhere in your home.
There’s a zippered access out front for those times you need to grab something in the middle of the pile during those times you run out of clean socks and realize the one you put in the laundry isn’t all that grimy. Yeah, that pocket is very handy. It measures 20 x 17.5 inches when unpacked flat, so you get plenty of space to throw in all that dirty clothes and gear. When packed, the whole thing measures just 5 x 5 x 2.5 inches (height x width x thickness) and weighs 4.4 ounces, making it very convenient to bring along to your trip. Overall, the design looks purely utilitarian, with no frills that can add unnecessary bulk or weight.
The bag is constructed from 50D nylon with a PFAS-free DWR coating, so it’s lightweight, durable, and water-resistant. Do note, it’s not designed for sustained exposure to water, so you don’t want to leave it outside the tent during heavy rains, unless you’re fine soaking all your dirty garments.
