Moft Dynamic Folio Offers Over 20 Stand Configurations

We love Moft’s selection of stands and cases for various devices (like this laptop stand or this desk mat), which use origami-inspired folding designs to deliver a variety of clever functions. Their latest is the Moft Dynamic Folio, an iPad case that can elevate your tablet off the work desk in an interesting manner.

At first glance, it looks like any standard folio-style iPad case that you can use to protect the front and back sides of your tablet, when you take it on the go. As is the case with many of the outfit’s accessories, it integrates origami-style folds that turn into a versatile stand for propping up your tablet in standard and unique ways alike.

The Moft Dynamic Folio has a rigid fiberglass structure that renders it very strong, allowing it to adequately protect your devices when used as a folio case, while capably supporting its weight when used as a stand. The fiberglass is covered in scratch-resistant vegan leather that’s soft on the outside while offering a skin-like finish on the lining, so it won’t nick or scratch your tablet. It’s lightweight, too, tipping the scales at weights even lighter than Apple’s own cases, ensuring it won’t add any heft or bulk to your daily carry.

Of course, the big selling point here is the stand function, which this accessory delivers in a very creative way. Basically, it has numerous sections that you can fold in different ways to turn it into different kinds of stands. The main ones are the two floating stands, which elevate the iPad high up off the desk. One of them raises the iPad two inches above the desk surface, while holding it at a 30-degree angle that’s ideal for drawing and similar intensive tasks. The other raised the iPad three inches above the desk surface, while holding it at a 60-degree angle for those times you just want to annotate a book or jot down some notes. Even better, you can transition between the two without having to redo the folds, as you flip the stand over to go from one to the other. Clever.

The Moft Dynamic Folio also offers a variety of other landscape and portrait stand modes at 18, 45, 70, and 80 degrees, with one of them (the 18 degree) even allowing you to use it as a stand for both an iPad and an iPhone for dual-screen function. If you want to get more creative, you can play around with the different folds and discover new ways to use the stand. According to the outfit, they’ve used it in over 20 different orientations, each of which holds the iPad at different angles.

it comes with integrated N52 magnets that ensures the iPad stays attached to the stand the whole time, so at no point do you have to worry about having the tablet slip off. They also offer a modular add-on that adds a mount for securing an Apple Pencil onto the accessory. Three sizes of the folio are currently available: Mini (for iPad Mini 6th and 7th gen), 11 (for 11-inch iPads), and 13 (for 13-inch iPad Pros and iPad Airs).

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Moft Dynamic Folio. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $39.
