Ultrahuman Ring Pro Brings Bigger Battery, More Powerful Hardware, and More

Smart rings are great, allowing you to get detailed wellness metrics while wearing nothing but a normal-looking ring. There are no screens to distract, no notifications every few minutes, and no strap to loosen or tighten. It’s so convenient and comfortable to use, in fact, many people forget they’re even wearing them. Turns out, that’s a problem since many folks end up not remembering to charge them every few days, especially since some people also use them as sleep trackers. So why not just get a ring with an even longer battery life? Well, that’s what you can do with the Ultrahuman Ring Pro.

Equipped with 15 days of battery life, the wearable will only need to be charged twice within the span of a month, making it even more convenient to use than the last-gen Ring Air, which gets six days of battery life at most. Will this solve the problem of you forgetting to charge your smart ring every now and then? Probably not, but, at least, you only face the issue twice a month now, which should be better. Kind of.

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro isn’t just a new model with a bigger battery. Instead, this one has been engineered from the ground up, with the outfit claiming the last-gen hardware had already been pushed to its limits. For this model, they’re using a faster dual-core processor with on-device machine learning that does a better job of crunching the numbers for more accurate wellness metrics. It also gets expanded storage, allowing it to store up to 250 days’ worth of data in one go, so you can only sync it every few months and you’ll be fine.

According to the outfit, they also redesigned the heart rate sensor to get better signals during sleep and recovery. They also added a safety feature that makes the ring easier to cut apart in the rare event that your finger or the battery in the device ends up swelling in such a way that you can’t take the ring off normally.

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro is also introducing a new “real time biointelligence AI” called Jade, which can pull health and wellness insights on its own using the data collected (both from the ring and any other compatible device you’re using), while also prompting the user to start breathwork and triggering Afib detection. Ultrahuman claims it’s getting even more capabilities down the line, too, including automatically adjusting room temperature and flagging potential health issues you might need to check up on.

The smart ring will ship with a new Pro Charging case that looks like its own fancy gadget, rather than the ring box most smart rings come with. It has an onboard battery that provides three full charges to the wearable, so you can just put the ring in every couple of weeks and keep it charged pretty conveniently, with a LED indicator letting you know the amount of charge left at all times. The charging case also gets a speaker and a proximity tracker for those times you forget its location and want to find it using the companion app.

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro goes on preorder today, priced at $479.
