While it sounded like an incredibly niche product when it first came out, the Ninja Slushi has become an absolute hit, especially after it became a crowd favorite on TikTok. Why bother making a trek to the nearest convenience store when you can whip up your very own flavors of slushies at home? The HiCozy F3 takes that clever appliance, copies it, and improves on it by allowing you to make soft serve ice cream on the same machine.
That’s right, this slushy maker can also whip up soft serve ice cream, so you can enjoy icy drinks one batch and a creamy frozen treat the next. No need to buy a separate ice cream maker to whip up your own soft serve desserts at home – this thing can switch from one mode to the other with just the push of a button.
The HiCozy F3 is a countertop appliance that resembles those slushy machines you can find at many convenience stores. There’s a large transparent tank on top where you can see the drink being mixed, as well as a large pull-down handle for easy control when dispensing your icy treats. Similar to Ninja’s countertop slushy maker, this appliance doesn’t require ice. Instead, it comes with its own cooling technology that can chill your ingredients to the desired temperature and consistency anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on what mode it’s set at.
As for the modes, you get the standard Slush mode for making slushies, as well as a Soft Ice Cream mode for cranking out soft serve treats. There’s also Spiked Slush when you want to make icy cocktails, as well as Milkshake and Cold Drink, with the latter for those times you just want a chilled beverage from the machine. Yes, you could also just put the drink in the fridge or freezer, but this gives you the option if you need it. Do note, your ingredients need to abide by some guidelines to ensure they achieve the correct consistency. Specifically, all drinks you pour in should contain at least six percent sugar, while mixes for spiked slushies should contain no more than 16 percent alcohol.
The HiCozy F3’s killer feature, of course, is the inclusion of a soft serve mode, which is something that isn’t available in Ninja’s original slushy maker. Heck, even Ninja’s ice cream maker requires jumping through a bit of hoops to make soft serve, making this an incredibly more convenient option for that. According to the outfit, this is achieved by a variable-speed DC motor and adaptive algorithms that combine to adjust the paddle’s operation so that it gives the ingredients a smoother, creamier texture.
After it produces a batch of slushies or soft serve, the outfit claims the machine can keep it in good condition for up two hours. That means, you can take your time and enjoy every serving, with no need to rush. Other features include a 41-oz capacity for the tank, a self-cleaning mode, quiet operation at only 55 decibels (way quieter than blenders), a side holder for cones, and a removable drip tray for easy cleaning.
A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the HiCozy F3. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $286.
