Ninja Crispi Microwave Combines Fast-Heating Function with Air Frying Goodness

When you have limited counter space, you can’t exactly pick up every countertop appliance that catches your fancy. If you’ve found yourself having to make a choice between using that spare room for a microwave or an air fryer, Ninja just made the decision a little easier by letting you get both in the Ninja Crispi Microwave.

Billed as “the microwave that crisps,” it looks like a normal microwave at first glance, with one large knob, a few buttons, and a LED display on the outside. Inside, though, it hides the outfit’s FusionCrisp technology, which lets you reheat food at the same speed as a conventional microwave while also letting you air fry foods to a delicious crisp.

The Ninja Crispi Microwave can work like any microwave, allowing you to reheat food using any microwave-safe plastic container you have lying around. Do note, you have to make sure to use only the microwave mode in this function, since the plastic won’t be safe to use with either the air fryer or FusionCrisp functions. That means, it’s also safe for TV dinners, microwave cookware, and, pretty much, anything else you would use in a normal microwave. It has eight microwave presets, namely popcorn, potato, defrost, beverage, soup, frozen dinner, frozen veggies, and soften butter.

For standard air frying, you get five settings, namely normal crisp, max crisp, air roast, air bake, and air broil, so you can make, pretty much, any dish you usually make with other air fryers. When air frying, by the way, it can go up to temperatures of up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, similar to the outfit’s Crispi Pro air fryer. One of the unique cooking modes here is the FusionCrisp, which basically uses the microwave setting to quickly heat up food, then switches to air frying to give food that satisfying crisp. Using the FusionCrisp setting, Ninja claims it can take most types of food from frozen to crispy in around 10 minutes, with no preheating necessary.

The Ninja Crispi Microwave’s main cooking chamber doesn’t look like a typical microwave. For one, you don’t get a spinning plate inside. Instead, it has a flatbed design, allowing you to make full use of the space, so you can reheat two large microwave-safe containers of food at the same time without having to balance them on the plate. According to the outfit, it can fit a 9 x 11 inch baking dish, two bags of popcorn, or four bowls of leftovers in one batch.

For air frying, by the way, it comes with a glass basket (sized to fit an eight-pound chicken) and a crisper tray. Unfortunately, the tray looks similar to the nonstick-coated ones on other air fryers, so if you don’t want that, it looks like it can be compatible with most stainless steel alternatives. Other features include a two-step child lock for safety, 1700W rating, and a total size of 19.6 x 16 x 14.1 inches (width x depth x height). Do note, it weighs 50 pounds, so this thing is heavy.

The Ninja Crispi Microwave is available now, priced at $449.99.
