2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric Shows Up with a Whopping 1,139 HP

There has been talk of Porsche pulling back from their electric car expansion plans, but apparently, that’s not happening right at this moment. That’s because the outfit just announced the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, an all-electric SUV.

The outfit’s second fully-electric SUV, the car is being touted to be the most powerful Porsche of all time. We’re talking about crazy horsepower ratings here, all while also promising outstanding driving dynamics, uncompromising off-road prowess, and impeccable long-distance driving comfort.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric takes its 800-volt system architecture, advanced thermal management, and regenerative braking setup from the outfit’s Formula E 99X Electric Race Car, allowing it to deliver race-proven performance and efficiency metrics. The onboard electric motors produce a whopping 1,139 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to go from standstill to 60 mph in 2.4 seconds, while hitting the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds. Do note, the full 1,139 hp is only reserved for the Launch Control mode, so it’s only available in brief bursts, while a “Push to Pass” function allows it to boost to 1,017 hp for up to 10 seconds. In standard mode, the car gets to use 844 hp, which is still a whole lot of power.

The motors draw power from a 108kWh battery that’s integrated into the vehicle’s structure (they’re bolted onto the floor) to improve rigidity and handling balance. It supports a charging rate of up to 400 kW, although chargers with that kind of capability aren’t really that commonplace yet. You can hook it up to an NACS charge port (aka Tesla chargers), which fills it up at a 200 kW rate, although Porsche recommends using the included SAE Combo adapter for optimal speeds, with the outfit claiming it can go from 10 to 80 percent in just 16 minutes. There’s also a J1772 socket for home charging, although that’s a painfully slow 11 kW, as well as a wireless charging option at the same 11 kW. No range has been announced at the moment, so we don’t know if this is viable for long-range electric driving.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric gets a dual-chamber, dual-valve air suspension with PASM, with Active Ride suspension available as an upgrade, as well as a locking rear differential, direct oil cooling, and 22-inch wheels. There’s regenerative braking, of course, with the vehicle recuperating around 600kW of power, with the outfit estimating that, in regular driving, the electric motors can handle 97 percent of all the vehicle’s braking needs all on their own.

The styling is very similar to the Macan with a rounded off rear, albeit with a more drawn-out appearance, which is likely from the wheelbase that’s five inches longer than the standard Cayenne. Inside, the dashboard is filled with display screens from end to end (if you opt to put in the 14.9-inch passenger display), complete with a two-part Flow Display that curves both horizontally and vertically to better present information to the driver. Fortunately, the AC and volume controls are still analog, but the rest (including adjusting the air vents) is all digital.

The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric ships out summer 2026. Price starts at $165,350.
