Flat tactical flashlights have changed the game for EDC, since it gives you a pocket-sized torch light that won’t create an uncomfortable bulge, making it especially convenient for keeping in a pocket. The Olight ArkTac Ultra looks to make the flat tactical flashlight an extremely versatile lighting tool.
How versatile is it? According to the outfit, it’s designed to deliver not just your usual floodlight and spotlight, it also comes with a red light, a UV light, a green laser, and a strobe light. That’s right, all of that in a single compact torch light that’s designed to fit comfortably in most pockets.

The Olight ArkTac Ultra has a flat housing, making it look more like a harmonica than a pocket flashlight. It measures just 17mm thick across its length, ensuring it can sit comfortably in most pockets without causing any discomfort. That slim frame actually houses a surprising five different light sources. Top of the pack is the spotlight, which puts out a maximum brightness of 1,800 lumens, all while throwing its beam at distances of up to 215 meters, making it ideal for spotting things from a distance. Sure, it’s no high-brightness flashlight, but it will do the trick. Like all modern flashlights, it also offers a flood light that covers a wide angle. In flood mode, the brightness maxes out at 1,200 lumens, which should be bright enough to help you find anything you’re trying to locate in the dark.
It’s also got two settings of red light (55 lumens and three lumens) for easy nighttime visibility while minimizing your visual exposure in the dark, making it perfect for burglars and campers looking to not attract any attention while they perform whatever dastardly deeds they’re up to in the middle of the night. If you like grossing yourself out in the hotel room, it’s also got a UV light that’s listed at 365nm wavelength, with two modes, namely low (360mW) and high (1,200mW).

The Olight ArkTac Ultra also gets a green laser that can be turned on in two stages (either 0.39mW or 5mW), allowing you to point out things in the dark, in case you need to distract a bear making its way to your camp. According to the outfit, by the way, the laser can be paired with all four other light sources, which should make it doubly useful in the field. The main control button is situated at the opposite end, making it easy to switch between different light modes while keeping the flashlight pointed in your desired direction, while a red programmable button can be set as a shortcut for any of the different light modes. There’s also a dashboard in the body to keep you informed of various conditions at a glance.

According to the outfit, this flashlight uses their strongest proprietary aluminum alloy to date, which, they claim, boasts 1.9 times more hardness than 6061-T6 aluminum, 1.9x higher tensile strength than TA2 titanium, and 1.6x higher yield strength than TA2 titanium. Other features include a diamond-cut textured grip, a reinforced strike bezel, power saving mode, an integrated clip, and an included holster.
The Olight ArkTac Ultra is now available for preorders. Price is $199.99.
