Roam SodaTop Water Bottle Can Turn Boring Water Into Sparkling Water in Three Seconds

Soda makers are great, allowing you to carbonate any beverage at home whenever you want some fizz on your drinks. Problem is, it’s an entire countertop appliance, so you don’t get to enjoy the same convenience on the go. The Roam SodaTop changes that.

An insulated water bottle, you can use it to carry cold refreshments on the go, allowing you to have cold water, juice, or your favorite energy drink on standby, ready to sip at a whim. Unlike other water bottles, though, it has a built-in carbonation system, allowing it to turn regular water into sparkling water with a single twist, so you can enjoy your fizzy drinks without having to buy bottled products at the convenience store.

The Roam SodaTop looks like a regular insulated water bottle. It’s got the wide mouth opening, grip-friendly body, and a stainless steel construction that should hold up to the bumps and drops of daily use. You know how most vacuum bottles have double wall construction? This one uses three walls, instead, allowing it to offer one of the longest ice retention we’ve seen for insulated bottles. According to the outfit, it can keep cold drinks chilled for up to 24 hours and retain ice for up to 48, so this thing can keep your drinks cold all day and then some. The bottle comes with a 32-ounce capacity.

One thing you’ll notice, though, is that the cap on top of the bottle is unusually thick. That’s because it contains the carbonation system, which includes a tiny CO2 cartridge. To use, simply put the carbonation cap onto the bottle securely, then twist the top section to start the carbonation process. After three seconds, your freshly carbonated drink is ready. The bottle will lock in the carbonation until you’re ready to drink, at which point you should press the pressure release button to vent out excess air.

The Roam SodaTop requires you to take off the entire carbonation cap to actually get a sip, which isn’t very convenient. However, it does offer something no other water bottle does, so it feels like a worthy tradeoff for the ability to make sparkling water on the fly any time you feel like it. There’s no word, by the way, on whether you can use this with drinks other than water, but we don’t see any reason why it won’t work. That’s definitely something people will be experimenting with as soon as this thing ships out.

Roam, by the way, first introduced this product way back at CES 2025. Back then, they wanted the carbonation cap to be compatible with other popular water bottles, although this version seems to be exclusive for this bottle, since it uses proprietary threads that are apparently required to handle the carbonation pressure. They also planned to sell flavored CO2 cartridges, which they’re no longer doing now. Instead, they’re merely offering flavored drops if you don’t want to drink plain sparkling water all the time.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Roam SodaTop. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $119.
