Compact party speakers are great for daily use, getting you a portable speaker with built-in light shows and even karaoke. If you want a speaker fit for a big party, though, you’ll need something bigger to fill out a room with loud music and colorful lights. That’s the time for something like the JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2.
Billed as “the loudest, fiercest JBL PartyBox ever,” the speaker vows to fill up both indoor and outdoor spaces with massive sound, making it viable as your main audio source whether for house parties, tailgates, neighborhood block parties. According to the outfit, it’s loud enough to fill up to four basketball courts with sound, so this thing is no slouch when it comes to getting and keeping a party going.

The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 is a large party speaker measuring 41.4 x 18.4 x 19.4 inches (height x width x depth). It has a 1500W power output, so this thing can deliver deafeningly loud audio, courtesy of dual 5-inch mid drivers, horn-loaded dual PEN tweeters, and dual 10-inch woofers. The outfit claims it delivers detailed highs, strong vocals, and a deep low-end that you can physically feel. The speaker also uses an AI algorithm called AI Sound Boost that works to keep everything loud, clean, and balanced, regardless of which tracks are playing on the speaker, even when you have the volume turned all the way up.
Like all party speakers, it comes with built-in multi-color LEDs designed to put on a veritable light show that moves in time with the music across the full front panel. It even throws in floor projection tech to extend the light show straight into the room. Controls are available directly on top, with capacitive buttons and a round touchscreen allowing you to manage the speaker very easily.

The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 comes with a karaoke mode, of course, complete with an optical input for hooking up a TV and an XLR input for plugging in a mic. Even better, it has an AI algorithm that can remove the vocals from any song you play, so you don’t need to have karaoke versions of any track to sing it in the party. You can also use the same XLR connection for hooking up a DJ rig to the speaker if you have someone curating what actually plays at your party. It also gets built-in Wi-Fi, JBL Auracast, and a smart EQ mode that automatically makes adjustments based on what’s playing on the speaker, as well as an IPX4 rating, so you don’t have to worry about drunk folks splashing their drinks on it.

The whole thing, by the way, weighs 105 pounds, so you won’t be tossing this on your shoulder and carrying it around. Instead, it comes with integrated wheels, so you can just push it to any part of the venue, whether you’re at a rented space, a parking lot, or your mom’s house when she’s on holiday in the Carribean. There’s no battery, by the way (since this will need a giant one to power), so you’ll need to have an outlet nearby to plug it in.
The JBL PartyBox Ultimate 2 comes out October 25th, priced at $1,799.95.
