Jackery Explorer 100D Shrinks the Portable Power Station Into Power Bank Size

For casual on-the-go charging needs, a compact power bank is usually the best option, while larger portable power stations are the charging devices of choice when going off-grid for longer periods. The Jackery Explorer 100D looks to bring the portable power station to more casual situations by making it smaller than ever.

The outfit’s smallest portable power station yet, this thing measures just 4.6 x 3.4 x 3.4 inches (width x height x depth) and weighs 1.9 pounds, making it incredibly easy to carry as part of your everyday stash. Seriously, it’s not that much bigger or heavier than a typical mobile speaker, making it the kind thing you can dump in a backpack for bringing with you all day.

The Jackery Explorer 100D looks a lot like the outfit’s standard portable power stations. You get a boxy shape with a carry handle on top, along with a display and a series of ports out front. The display is a small LCD panel designed to put key information at a glance, allowing you to easily see the amount of charge left on the battery, the amount of power flowing through each port, battery health, and other important stats. A dedicated display button lets you cycle through the different screen layouts for highlighting different types of information.

Unlike traditional portable power stations, it doesn’t have a port for plugging in appliances. Instead, it sticks to USB slots, making it more like a power bank for a daily use than an outdoor power station for living it up in the wild. You get two USB-C slots that can put out 140W of power for laptops and other large devices, with one of those also used as the main charging port for plugging into a wall outlet. There’s also a USB-A slot that puts out 18W for charging phones and other smaller gadgets.

The Jackery Explorer 100D houses a 30,000 mAh (96Wh) battery, which, the outfit claims, holds enough power to charge a 14-inch MacBook Pro once, an 11-inch iPad Pro twice, or an iPhone 17 Pro four times, with extra juice to spare. According to the outfit, it can produce a total output of 158W, so you can charge one laptop and one phone at max speeds at the same time. It uses LFP cells instead of regular lithium-ion, by the way, which, the outfit claims, should be longer-lasting, allowing it to retain 80 percent capacity through 3,000 cycles, with the outfit claiming that should last it for an estimated eight years before showing noticeable drops in performance.

For recharging the power station, you can plug it to a wall outlet for a 140W charging input as the fastest option. If you decide to bring it outdoors, you can recharge via compatible solar panels pretty fast, too, with the outfit touting it can go up to 80 percent capacity in around 1.7 hours. It also charges at the same rate when plugged into a car port. The outfit claims the device is optimized for iOS devices, which means it’s equipped with AVS capability that automatically adjusts voltage for safe performance throughout.

The Jackery Explorer 100D will be available in Walmart starting November 15th, priced at $99.
