It’s not the kind of tent you’d want to bring if you’re planning to hike with your gear for more than a few minutes. For music festivals, car camping, and other less hardcore outdoor activities, though, the Puffer Inflatable Tent is definitely a shelter you’d want to consider bringing along.
An inflatable tent, it’s designed to set up in just two minutes, allowing you to get a proper outdoor shelter built in no time. Not only does it pitch quickly, it also packs up fast and integrates a sleeping system, simplifying your shelter and sleep setup like no other tent does.
The Puffer Inflatable Tent puts everything you need for a complete shelter within the inflatable build. That means, you don’t just get an inflatable tent, you also get an inflatable mattress built right into it, so you can keep your bed and shelter in a single bag. To set up, simply take the tent out of the bag, drop it on the ground, and bring out the included electric pump. You will see two sets of valves, one on the base and one on the tent frame. That’s because it has two separate inflation zones for each of those sections, allowing you to dial in the softness or firmness of the mattress to ensure sleeping comfort.
The outfit recommends inflating the air mattress first, setting the pressure level anywhere from 0.8 to 5.0 PSI. As you can imagine, the higher you go, the harder it will be, so you might want to start out in the middle and fine-tune as needed. After that, you inflate the tent frame, setting the electric pump to fill it up at 5.0 PSI to ensure it holds its shape. According to the outfit, the included pump requires you to just push a button once the pressure level is set, with the pump automatically stopping once the desired PSI is reached. Just remove the pump by twisting off the connecting valve and you’re done.
The Puffer Inflatable Tent uses three inline air chamber arches connected to a single ridge beam on top, giving the tent a curved A-shape. Once pitched, the tent interior gives you 84.6 x 52 x 42 inches (length x width x height), which is pretty standard amount of room to sleep two people. Since it’s a hair over seven feet long, there should be some room there to accommodate a couple of backpacks and some gear, too, even with taller occupants inside.
When collapsed, the tent packs down into a bundle measuring 25 x 10 inches (length x diameter) and weighs 18.2 pounds. It comes with a bag sized to fit the tent and all included accessories, so you can keep everything in one place. Speaking of accessories, that includes the aforementioned electric pump, six stakes, two sets of rope, and even a patch kit, so you can fix it on the fly if it ever gets punctured during your outdoor adventures.
