Renote Snap Combines Notebook and MagSafe Wallet into One Handy Accessory

We’re big fans of MagSafe wallets, since they let you free up a pocket for whatever other things you might want to bring along. If one of those things is a pocket notebook, the Renote Snap thinks you should integrate that into your MagSafe wallet as well.

A MagSafe wallet with built-in notepads and a snap-on pen, this thing lets you bundle a bunch of EDC accessories in one pocket, turning your already versatile phone into an even more multi-talented hub. Even better, the notepads are made of metal, instead of flimsy paper or card stock, ensuring they can last even through your next smartphone upgrade.

The Renote Snap is a MagSafe wallet and writing pad designed to snap comfortably on the back of any compatible smartphone, allowing you to keep your phone, wallet, and notebook in one place. Granted, it’s not generously-appointed for a wallet, since there’s only one card pocket that’s sized to hold three cards and nothing more. For most folks who just carry that many cards out and about, though, it should be fine. It uses real top-grain leather, by the way, so it looks and feels nice. Of course, the reason why the pockets are so sparse are the notepads, since this thing is fitted with A7-sized all-aluminum notepads. That’s right, you’ll be jotting down your notes and scribbling your sketches on a metal surface. According to the outfit, the metal pad has a sand-blasted anodized finish that creates a very smooth, very natural-feeling writing surface.

It comes with a fine-point marker that uses dry-erase ink, so you can easily wipe down the metal surface to clear out a page. From the videos, it wipes down very cleanly, too, with zero marker residue, so you can start over clean every single time. Even better, the marker comes with an eraser on the end tip, allowing you to easily remove items from the pad on the fly. The marker snaps to the side of the wallet, by the way, so everything stays in one place the whole time.

The Renote Snap comes with N52 neodymium magnets on the back, allowing it to snap onto MagSafe iPhones and other smartphones with magnetic rings on their back (it comes with a set). You can also snap it onto other ferromagnetic surfaces, so you can stick it to fridge doors and other steel surfaces. Since the aluminum notepads are fully rigid, you can also use them as a stand to prop up your phone on a desk at a variety of angles, making the whole thing very handy.

To make it even more useful, they added ruler lines to the notepad, so you can use it as a measuring tool in a pinch. They also offer other accessories designed to extend its function. For instance, they have a magnetic ring lanyard that lets you wear the wallet/notepad around your neck, a wall ring that lets you stick it onto non-magnetic surfaces, and a laptop holder that lets you snap the notepads right next to your laptop monitor.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Renote Snap. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $57.
