Target Darts Omni Auto Scoring System Adds Automated Scorekeeping to Your Dart Games

Playing darts is fun. Having to manually count and keep track of scores while you’re shooting projectiles in between gulps of ice cold beer, not so much. The Target Darts Omni Auto Scoring System takes care of all that scorekeeping for you.

Designed to work with the outfit’s dartboards, it consists of a large ring light that mounts directly to the board’s edges, giving the board additional illumination like other dartboard lighting. Except, this one also integrates built-in cameras that monitor exactly where each dart connects, allowing it to automatically update the score on its own, so you can focus on hitting targets and sipping beer for the rest of the night.

The Target Darts Omni Auto Scoring System is a dartboard ring light with integrated cameras that connect with a companion app over Wi-Fi to automatically update scores. It will keep track not just of where each dart is hitting, but which player is throwing at any point, with score updates done in real time, so you can easily see how the game is going at any moment. The system manages to do this by using four HD cameras positioned all around the dartboard, allowing it to extrapolate any dart’s exact position by taking all four different feeds into account. Heck, even darts that bounce out are precisely detected, ensuring it never misses a beat. According to the outfit, it can calculate the exact score in a fraction of a second, which it immediately sends to the companion app over Wi-Fi.

It works with the Dartcounter app (iOS and Android), which is a comprehensive dart platform that doesn’t just keep track of scores, but also connects players remotely, making it possible to play games together from the other side of the world. Only catch is, the app requires a monthly subscription, since the Omni only comes with a three-month trial. Sadly, it doesn’t appear to work with any other app or free option, which could be an issue for folks who don’t want to be tied to another recurring payment.

The Target Darts Omni Auto Scoring System uses bright white LEDs installed all around the frame, which shine their glow directly onto the board, ensuring it’s brightly-illuminated a full 360 degrees during play. According to the outfit, the lights render the entire dartboard shadow-free, which should make it easier to aim at your targets. Do note, it requires plugging in to an available outlet the whole time, so make sure to install your dartboard in a place where you have to access to power.

For people who use the outfit’s Virt camera system to play online darts games with live video feeds of their opponents, the two systems should be completely compatible. That means, install both the Omni and the Virt without any trouble onto a compatible dartboard. Same goes for people using the outfit’s MOD system, as the Omni is meant to work seamlessly with those setups.

Want one? The Target Darts Omni Auto Scoring System comes out end of the month, priced at £449.95.
