The Panasonic NN-SF57RM Japanese Microwave makes all of that extra work unnecessary.
A smarter (and way more expensive) microwave oven, the appliance is fitted with innovative tech that allows it to precisely monitor the temperature of the food you’re heating. Even better, it does the measurements from dozens of different positions, ensuring the food isn’t left with any cold spots.

The Panasonic NN-SF57RM Japanese Microwave is a countertop appliance with a 1.0-cubic foot cooking area. Unlike other microwaves, it doesn’t have a turntable plate, allowing you to use the whole interior to fit larger microwave cookware and food items. That’s right, there’s no way to easily turn and spin food in this microwave. Why? Because it shouldn’t be necessary. Specifically, it incorporates tech that ensures it can eliminate those cold spots by continually measuring the food’s temperature and automatically adjusting the microwave power levels to ensure more even results across the entire item.
The main feature is here is the outfit’s Genius Sensor 2.0, a thermo sensor using 3D antenna tech that’s able to measure temperature at 64 different points inside the cooking area. That’s right, it will know which parts of the food are not heating up like the others, which prompts it to adjust the electromagnetic waves delivery to ensure more even cooking. We’re not exactly sure what kinds of adjustments it’s making on the fly, but the outfit claims it will allow the appliance to heat any food inside thoroughly and evenly, eliminating the usual guesswork that goes into heating food in the microwave.

The Panasonic NN-SF57RM Japanese Microwave pairs that sensor system with the outfit’s patented Inverter Technology, the same one powering the outfit’s microwaves for the last three decades. Unlike traditional microwaves that blast electromagnetic waves in short bursts, this one delivers a steady, consistent stream. It also modulates the amount of power that’s delivered on the fly, so the food never gets any cool down time like they do in traditional microwaves. Combined with the sensor’s readings, this enables precise temperature control throughout the entire cooking time that you just can’t get from other microwave ovens.

According to Panasonic, this combo enables cooking one bowl meals inside the microwave. We don’t mean reheated dishes, by the way, as the outfit claims you can combine fresh ingredients in a single bowl and cook them in there like it was a regular oven, complete with numerous presets in the digital knob specifically for the one-bowl function. The appliance, by the way, looks so much sleeker than your typical microwave, from the drop-down door and the row of controls at the bottom to the lack of a turntable plate inside. It looks more like a fancy oven or air fryer (or a fancy air fryer oven) than a boring microwave, which is quite a feat. Unfortunately, all of that goodness comes at a pretty steep price.
